Sinka Education And Training Center
SETC is English training
centre and as a part of STKIP-PGRI Pontinanak. There are 17 students of English
study program of fourth semester who continue their study to this new campus
and also learn English more effectively and efficiently. They were chosen based
on IP at first and second semester. Singka Education and Training Centre
located in Jl. Raya Pajintan, East Singkawang, Singkawang under leadership of
Mr. Aria Djalil, Ph.D, the consultant of world bank and diplomat in Canberra,
Australia. Behind of this campus, there is beautiful scenery. The learning
activity in SETC starts from morning until the afternoon. The students
have more time to learn and expose their ability by using English language in
daily activity. Every day, they spent more than 10 hours a day to lean inside
and outside campus. In the morning, at 06 a.m, there is physical exercise about
30 minutes, then they have class at 07.30 until 12.30 and in the afternoon, at
2.30 until 5.30 there is extracurricular activities such as analytical reading,
teaching elementary students, book's translation, making dictionary, and other
activities. Also, in the evening, there is English gathering night by watching
English movie together, singing together and playing games. In addition, one by
one students should deliver their English speech when breakfast, lunch, and dinner
time. All of these activities intent on improving students' English abilities.
When the weekend time has come, SETC's students usually go to the tourism place
in Singkawang such as Pasir Panjang, Batu Belimbing, Gunung Poteng, Sibohe.
SETC has 3 classrooms, 1 canteen, 2 fishponds, 1 cottage, with the beautiful
scenery of Gunung Poteng, and large yard. Everything here is interesting.

For the first I want to
say thanks for STKIP and SETC that given me opportunity to study in SETC
Singkawang. Especially for Mr.Arya Jalil., Ph.D and his family that given me
attention during I staying here.
My name is Shinta
Sartika Sari. My nick name is Shinta. I was born on Ketapang, September 23th 1993. I am one of the students from STKIP PGRI Pontianak who was selected to
continue studying at SETC. I live in Pontianak, West Kalimantan. I am Muslim and I am the second children from
three siblings. I love English so much and I love teaching, because of that I
choose English education in my college. My dream is to become a teacher or
lecture. I want to make my parents proud of me and I will learn very well to
make my dream become true. I am a cheerful girl, I often make my friend laugh
with my jokes. Hehehe Sometime my friend angry with me, because I make over jokes.
The people said, I have a beautiful smile and you can see from my picture.
I like Doraemon cartoon
since childhood until now, I like Doraemon because of Doraemon is funny
cartoon. I have so many collection of Doraemon stuff, such as doll, blanket,
pillow, cloths, etc. I have some phobias with animals, such as mouse, chicken,
cat, and others. You should know I do hate cat so much, I don’t know why? L When I see cat, I will run so fast and that
makes the people around me laugh. I am a cookies maker, when Idul Fitri come I
make some cookies and I sell to my friend and my family. I got much money from
that and I proud of me. If I become a successful person someday, I want to go
to the Mekah with my parents and I want to make a big shop for my mother. I
hope all of my dreams become true. Amin
Dream what you want to dream, go where you want to go, be what you
want to be. Because you have only one life and one chance to do all the things
you want to do. The things that you should know is about three things you
cannot recover in life: the WORD after it’s said, the MOMENT after it’s missed
and the TIME after it’s gone. Be Careful!
Success seems to be connected
with action. Successful people keep moving. They make mistakes, but they
don't quit because life has two rules: 1. Never quit, 2. Always remember

My experience in SETC
I have so many awesome
experiences in SETC. The first I got new friends and all of them have a good
skill in English. They are smart students and I love them so much. I got new
families also, I have Pak.Hendro’s families and of course Mr.Arya’s families. All
of them are so kind and always care with us. The second, I got so many
knowledge that I don’t know before from my lectures and my new brother Nanda.
In here I can speak English good enough than before, because I always practice
my English with my friend every day. I always share some information with my
friend, not only about English but about everything. I can be discipline person
here, because I woke up earlier here than in Pontianak. In here I can teach the
students and it makes me happy because I can share my knowledge with them.
I also have a marvelous
experienced here, when I went to the Poteng Mountain. I saw the beautiful few
and the awesome waterfall of there.
I will not forget what I
got here, such as visited to the elementary school, visited to the some schools
in Singkawang and Bengkayang, and of course drama performance too. I learn many
things here, not only about English but also learn how the way becomes a good
leader and a patiently person.
